Tom Tabor: Ancestors
Do you remember hearing any stories about why and how your ancestors came to this country?
The Tabor side immigrated through Iowa...northwest, Sioux Rapids, etc...maybe Spenser...and eventually in the Garretson area of South Dakota. Issac was preaching in Garretson and Floyd was a local boy and met Frances (Issac's daughter), my mom, as young adults. Floyd had been in WWI and came back to Garretson and married Frances. He got a 2 yr pharmacy degree from SDSU then got a job in Sioux Falls. Then I was born and the family moved to Huron adn Ted was born and the family moved to Deadwood when I was 4 or 5. I went to kindergarten there and we stayed until I was 9. Then we moved to Madison and rented a house for years.
